Attendance is taken manually and the prof expects a good attendance from the batch

A basic knowledge of solid state chemistry would be helpful
This Course evaluation comprises of
Mid-sem and assignments for Prof. Maheswaran. Only assignments for Prof. Leela as conducting an end sem was not possible in the pandemic.
What are the topics covered in the course?
The course description in ASC is self-explanatory. Prof. Maheswaran course dealt with solid state chemistry while Prof. Leela’s course dealt with Nano materials.
How were the Lectures for this course?
Prof. Maheshwaran uses slides to teach in the lectures. It is advised to go through the references provided by the Prof. to gain a better understanding.
How were the Exams for this course?
Prof. Maheswaran conducted mid-sem along with Lab-based works and assignments. Mid-sem was okayish. Prof. Leela Srinivas Panchakarla’s course was in the midst of the pandemic and thus the evaluation was based on assignments only.
How were the Assignments & Projects for this course?
For Prof. Maheswaran, there was an assignment based on solving the crystal structure of a metal complex. It was fun solving the structure and the TA’s were also helpful in this regard.
Any tips for the junta to perform well in the course?
You may have to spend some time going through the slides and the references to comprehend the concepts properly. External reading from internet sources is very helpful
